A poem I wrote for Ellame 💛 All I can think of is how beautiful she was On the outside But mostly for everything she was on the inside The way you could hear her laugh a mile away For how she made us all laugh when we wanted to curl up and cry For how how her eyes lit up when she smiled For how she made everyone feel like they belonged For how she didn’t care where you came from She just wanted to stand by your side for where you were going next She was a dancer Threw and threw So graceful Who swayed with the wind Who flew when she moved Who’s weapon in this world was a smile in place of a fuck you And an ability to tell her story without needing words I’ll always admire her strength How she would stand when the world knocked her down I’ll admire her kindness The kindness that should’ve been a lesson to us all How naturally it came to her How even in her darkest moments She’d smile and say ‘you’ll be okay’ How she could make you believe that How the world gave her more pain then she could carry But she never stopped wanting to help the people in it I guess none of us will know the extent Of the storm that raged inside of her That made her incapable of feeling the love she had for others For herself But I hope she felt even a fraction of the love we all had for her I’ll never fully comprehend how someone so young Could be so wise How at only 16 She could be gone How her heart was filled with love Despite the bitter world she lived in I wish I had taken notes from her On how to be good Because that’s what she was I wish I could preserve her on paper But no poem i write will ever do her justice I wish I could go back I wish she would’ve stayed around longer Then maybe eventually she’d have seen the world with different eyes You my dear friend We’re a beautiful heart A beautiful soul Who was taken from us all Far to soon
